  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to determine the effect of Work Motivation and Competence both partially and simultaneously on Job Satisfaction and Performance of State Civil Apparatus at the Regional Development Planning Board of East Kutai Regency and to find out the variables that have the dominant influence on job satisfaction and performance of State Civil Apparatus in the Regional Development Planning Board of East Kutai. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach, it is a research that means to explain the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables by testing the hypothesis. The results of the study show that: 1) Work Motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. 2) Work Competence has a positive significant effect on job satisfaction. 3) Motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee. 4) Work competence has a positiveand significant effect on employee performance. 5) Satisfaction has a positive but not significant effect on performance. 6) Performance has a positive but not significant effect on job satisfaction. 7) Simultaneous motivation, competenceand performance have a positive and significant effect on employment. 8) Motivation, competence and satisfaction simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on performance.
